Global Warming

Already the concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere has increased from 280 ppm (parts per million) before the industrial revolution to over 400 ppm in December 2016 according to the IPCC (intergovernmental panel on climate change). This has resulted in the eleven hottest years ever recorded occurring in the past 12 years. On our current course we will exceed the 550 ppm CO2 which is estimated to increase the temperature of our planet by 20°C which will cause huge devastation to large parts of the planet and the life it currently sustains. 20°C doesn’t sound much, but a reduction by this amount resulted in the last, lengthy ice age.
